Conor Oberst may not have the media attention he once did (I'm Wide Awake / Digital Ash… being the peak), but that's probably better for both fan and Oberst alike.  Conor continues to make music at a steady clip, and apparently keeps finding a lot of people to do it with.  In this upcoming free documentary, Phil Schaffart (guitar tech) chronicles the making and touring of Conor Oberst and The Mystic Valley Band's first LP.  The band formed somewhat unexpectedly in Tepoztlan, Mexico in early 2008, and already have their second album, Outer South, getting its release in May on Merge.  You can watch the documentary on Conor's site on April 15th. Also the film hopes to receive contributions to Cause Cast as "payment" for viewing the film.  Sounds like a pretty fair trade to me.
