I know this is an early moment to claim Best Album of 09, but Animal Collective's Merryweather Post Pavilion is just that good.  From "In the Flowers" to "Brothersport" there isn't a mediocre or dull moment.  The sounds are completely Animal Collective, but don't feel at all rehashed.  This ability to create themselves anew over the past 8 albums, makes Animal Collective one of the most important group of musicians of the 00's.  Buy Merryweather at Amazon on Jan 20th.
